Repair of concrete patches in poor condition

We provide solutions for patches and concrete floors in poor condition. We rebuild concrete floors, remove patches and leave totally new industrial floors through polished concrete.

WE REPAIR PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PATCHES IN BAD CONDITION

A previously made repair of a patch in a concrete floor is caused by the use of machinery and the movement of goods. In BECOSAN® we repair these patches in an industrial floor leaving it in perfect condition. This is a precursor to a treatment with our patented BECOSAN® system, where we harden and seal the concrete floor to minimise future damage.

DO YOU HAVE ANY AREAS OF THE FLOOR THAT ARE IN POOR CONDITION?

If the damaged areas do not receive immediate attention, the problems will spread throughout the entire floor, affecting the entire installation and compromising the business operation.

A damaged floor will increase the risk of industrial accidents.

Here at BECOSAN we completely remove the previous repair, carefully clean the hole before filling with non-shrinking mortar. Once dry the patch should provide a high degree of rigidity and a long life.

DETERIORATION OF PATCHES

The repair of a cracked hole in the floor is usually solved by applying a mortar patch. It is the most common repair measure in an industrial building to recover the part of the affected surface.

Patches in the pavements represent areas or spaces where the original material was damaged. To repair it, a fast drying mortar is usually used, in order to speed up the restart of the production.

Deterioration is closely linked to the life span of the floor, so it is essential to keep the floor in the best possible condition.

In the industrial context, where slabs are designed for specific conditions and use, patches receive different attention. They must be conditioned and sealed so that no further damage occurs in the same area.

Causes of poor condition

Patches in poor condition are the result of a pathology that originates from a combination of multiple factors. These generally manifest themselves in the following causes:

  • Bad practice on a previous repair
  • Improper use of facilities
  • Insufficient or wrong joint planning
  • Spreading damage to adjacent areas
  • Floor impacts caused by an accident

DUST PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH A DETERIORATED PATCH

Once the affected area begins to deteriorate it becomes a source of dust and a place where dirt accumulates. Dust problems affect the aesthetics of the floor surface and make cleaning and maintenance very difficult.

The dust generated by crumbling floors is not only uncomfortable for daily tasks, but is also harmful to health.

HOW ARE THESE PATCHES REPAIRED?

The repair of patches in poor condition varies according to the severity of the damage and the applied methodology.

Regardless of the severity of the damage, patch repair consists of removing the affected material until its inner layer is exposed.

Subsequently, the affected area is filled and sealed with an anti-retraction mortar, which is adjusted to the needs of the floor.
