The appearance of cracks in concrete floors and a solution on how to repair them.

Cracks in industrial floors can appear due to a number of different circumstances whether that be down to movements of the floor slabs, environmental influences or even high traffic of trucks and heavy machinery.

In the course of time, the cracks in the industrial floors will expand, branch out and even more damage can occur. A concrete floor loses its functionality due to these neglections, the daily cleaning of the floor will be more difficult and the wear of forklift truck wheels is increased. In addition, it will generate large quantities of dust, which contaminates stored goods.

Joint renovation / repair of joints / renewal of joint profiles

Transition points of concrete slabs and transition areas between two industrial halls must withstand high loads of daily operations. A joint renovation requires extensive repair work. The early repair of joints prevents major damage and saves costs. If expansion joints that expand above average, there is a high risk of increasing the damage.

Removal of screws and bolts in concrete floors

If a change of tenant or a renovation of the industrial floor is imminent, anchor bolts are often left behind once the racking systems have been moved. This can be an issue that needs to be addressed, they would need to be professionally removed.

It is not enough to just cut the top of the bolts from the surface, as unattractive and sharp-edged metal residues will remain visible. These will disrupt operations and make renovation work more difficult.

One option in successfully removing the anchor bolts and screws is milling them out. Screws and bolts are removed approximately 1-2 cm below the concrete surface with an angle grinder. The hole is filled with a special mortar and the surface is finally ground and polished. After a professional concrete renovation, the treated areas can be fully loaded again.
